big art dump of things im really proud of !

 howdy howdy, blog readers !  its been a while, huh? sorry for my prolonged internet absence; i gave a vague explanation on spacehey, but tl;dr i was doing some deep self-analysis and introspection for the past few months, and while there were some pretty low lows, ive never felt higher mood-wise then i do right now !!! its an insane feeling to know that ive, for the most part, fully accepted and loved myself   i hope everyone gets to experience feeling like this, at some point in their life...

anyways, this post isnt about my feelings (although i may make an entry about that  ) this is an art dump, and if its art u want, then its art youll get !!!!!!! 
ill be posting the art by the subject/topic, and not in chronological order; i have a super weird workflow, so its easier for me to bounce back and forth between topics, rather then squeezing every last bit of inspiration i have for one thing and then moving onto the next thing  especially considering some of these art pieces directly contribute to the making of other art pieces, its gonna be a little all over the place when it comes to what i talk about, so bear with me !!

quick note: all of these pieces use a pixelated brush. to view these in the best quality, open them in a new tab (ideally on pc !  )

 starting off with the most self-contained art stuff ive done; i made some designs for me & my friends favorite vocaloids & utauloids (theres also neru who is neither-- shes a derivative, which is similar to an utauloid but has no original voice of their own, and instead has a voice that is made by altering an existing vocal synth!!!)

im so, so unbelievably happy with how these all came out

starting off with the larger pic, heres a lovely little rainbow of vocaloid designs !!!  this piece, if i had to guess, took the longest to make our of everything im showing here (mainly because i was really struggling with my ia design and finding art motivation in general.. im the no. 1 customer of the burnout store, with a vip shoppers card and leaving with a full cart every time i go in)
this entire art project started when i realized that i dont really see teto as being paleskinned, by the way. the teto design lead me to thinking about what my friends favs would look like if i created them as my own ocs, and before long i had 8 mid-body designs i wanted to draw out
my brain loves taking ideas and running with it, much to the dismay of my hands and free time 

momo my beloved, you deserve more modern fandom rep

 

comparatively, this art of my original momo design took barely any time at all  momo momone is one of my favorite utauloids, and i wanted to give my own take on her looks
i love using recurring patterns/shapes in my designs, as well as repeating colors ! (i never understood why people think being "matchy matchy" is at all a bad thing, i think it makes you look more put together and cohesive personally ) as such, theres a lot more frills more pink in specific areas, and a more uniform color palette
i do wish i kept the cute bow she has, but i couldnt think of a good way to fit it in with everything else.. oh well, shes a cutie patootie either way !! 

completely changing gears, deltarune is a pretty nifty game, eh? i may not have played it myself yet (im waiting for the game to be fully complete ) but i absolutely love everything thats come from it so far....... namely, an expansion on gasters character and role in the story
gasters always been one of the most interesting parts of undertale, to me. such a mysterious figure, who can be found in almost every aspect of the game, if you look hard enough 

ft. my human designs; gaster is very androgynous to me, so i gave them long lashes as a human !

gaster is so interesting to me, in fact, that i yumeship with Him (yumeshipping is a synonym for selfshipping, aka shipping yourself with a fictional character, if you arent aware  i have 8 currently !!)
these designs are ones i specifically made for yumeshipping purposes; the "hair" on monster gasters second design (the post-shattering across space and time one) is a direct reference to Redacted; an unused character people used to think was another potential gaster design, since it also spoke in wingdings )

 along with that first ref, i made this artwork of gaster; it may not look that impressive to some, but im really happy with the perspective on this  it was a pain getting the body right, but i think it looks pretty good if i do say so myself !

 

vagabonds dark world form is directly inspired by madokas magical girl outfit; i thought it was fitting, teehee

if im gonna have a selfship-specific design for gaster, i might as well have a unique design for myself, right? i love making sonas, and yumeship self-inserts are no exception  ill share some more information about both of them, riiiiiiiight...

now !!!  the symbols next to the photos of their partner are related to homestuck: to put it as simply as i can

• the red heart is traditional romance, called matespritship 
• the pink diamond is a less inherently romantic interpretation of being soulmates-- one party usually helps pacify the other and keeps them stable. this is called moiraillegience
• the black/grey spade is a romantic hatred, or a rivals-to-lovers trope where they stay rivals while being lovers, called kismesissitude

theres also another romance, auspisticism, which is similar to kismesissitude-- this relationship involves 3 parties; two people on the edge of a kismesis romance, and a mediator (the auspistice) who steps in to keep both sides peaceful
i currently dont have a yumeship with this quadrant, but who knows what the future can hold for me..

is it lame to utilize homestucks troll romance quadrants for my own ships outside of the homestuck yumeship? even if it is, i dont care !!! its the easiest way for me to explain my thoughts when it comes the romance dynamics at play  

i have some more art of rené, as well as my other homestuck sonas (because of course i have more sonas.... i made what is essentially 8 ocs of myself so i can play dolls and make them kiss my favs, are u even surprised ? )

i gave all of them unique designs for their godtier outfits; the second line of clothes, which represent their powers and class !

hydren and wren are meant to represent my more negative aspects, while rayn and raydia represent my more positive ones; the humans are more realistic interpretations and are arguably more "reasonable" when it comes to what they do, while the trolls are more fantastical and flanderized versions of those concepts 
rené was made specifically for selfshipping purposes, so he doesnt get a slice of the self-analysis pie (he represents different parts of myself that the other 4 dont show as much)

as a bonus for the homestuck art section, heres rayn in a cute dress. why? because i was discovering myself, presentation-wise /silly /pos

did someone mention sonas? god, i fucking love sonas.  after realizing that i really like frilly skirts and dresses (see the rayn image above,) i remade my sona to include a big poofy dress 

 

the plain looking fool next to my sona is meant to be me irl XP

imt not 100% sure where the flower/petal motifs came from, to be honest  my name is ray as in the rays of the sun, which inspired the yellow/orange accents-- i also tend to draw frills and lace with a simple rounded shape, which may have mixed with the accent colors into the yellow flowers. im not complaining, though ! my favorite flower is the dandelion and the accents make me think of that  

for my last section, i bring something different; not digital drawings, but art from my other favorite medium; scrapbooking and crafting !  i love scrapbooking, but feel awkward sharing most of what i make (the subject of almost all my scrapbooking ventures is my partner, who isnt comfortable sharing his face with people he isnt close to) but !!! i recently decided to make a page centered around myself, instead  

i like featuring characters the subject (in this case me) likes/associated themself with ^^

im super happy with how this turned out; i finally got a chance to use some of my favorite stickers in my collection !!! i hope yall like it just as much as i do  

remember when i mentioned my yumeships earlier (specifically gaster?)  the original artwork featuring His design was made for a different project i was working on, at the time  while it may not have taken the longest, it probably took the most prep and was a lot more involved (especially considering that i had to make a whole other artpiece for it..)

i dont know if i would call them my magnum opus craft-wise (that title prolly goes to the recreation of terezi from homestuck's cane i made,) but i love these a LOT

if youre at all aware of online stan culture, you know that some idol fans will own and decorate photocards of their favs (or their "oshis," if you wanna use their terminology ) yumeship culture and stan culture have a lot of overlap, so it makes sense that things like photocards would be present in both
i love owning physical merch of my favorite things, but im 1) too broke and 2) too into niche things to really find myself getting anything related to my favorties  so i made my own !!!

the dirk and dave cards are connected by a chain because i use the same self insert to ship with both; i also ran out of the poster board i used for the other 6, and needed a crafty solution. luckily for me, id like to think im good at coming up with those !!!

typing this post out took like 6 hours because i kept procrastinating.... my blog posts usually take a while to make, but i think this one was longer bc i really like talking about my art, teehee
